Nora De Broder is a filmmaker, director, and producer known for character-forward films that bring cinematic depth to real people and institutions.
She is the founder of Nora For Good, a New York City based production company focused on feature documentaries, nonfiction storytelling, and culturally significant projects. De Broder was the cinematographer and editor of the award-winning devised theater project The Great Vanishing, which premiered at the Manhattan Film Festival in 2024 and topped the festival box office during its run.
Her current documentary work includes films on housing preservation and civic power in Brooklyn, as well as legacy businesses and cultural identity in North Carolina.
Before founding Nora For Good, De Broder worked in television news, journalism, and commercial production, producing field-based nonfiction stories and brand films. Her background in journalism and production sharpened her ability to work quickly, build trust in high-stakes environments, and translate complex subjects into cinematic, accessible narratives. In addition to directing and producing documentary films, she photographs public figures, cultural leaders, and political figures as part of her expanding visual practice.
